As  you know our church has started a men’s discipleship program. This program is designed to speak straight to the heart of men in the local church. I believe God is calling men back to leadership in the church today. It is His desire to return the Glory of God back to the church and to do that He needs men who are willing to make a commitment to Him and His church. It is my desire as Pastor to raise up men to carry this call into the church so the church can carry His glory into the world. The sad fact is that as of late the church has not done it’s job in raising up men to answer this challenge. That is something we feel God has called us to change.

                I am inviting you to start a journey that will not only challenge you as a man of God but equip you to be that man of God. I will not pretend to tell you this is a Bible study for men. It is not!!!! If you want a Bible study come to Sunday school. This is designed to change your life forever. It is my intention to help you discover who you are in the kingdom and then help equip you to do that kingdom work.

                The first part of this journey will be on Thursday nights and is described in detail in the commitment page included in this letter. It will take 6 to 8 months, this is the part where we explain to you the why and what of ministry.  The next part will include a mentoring time where you do things with the Elders as a part of teaching you ministry. It will take up to 1 year, this is where we show you how and do it with you. The next part is where we give a specific area of the ministry as your responsibility, this is where we deploy you and let you do it, this will take the rest of your life!

                I am excited about the direction God is taking our church and the men he is raising up to do the work of the ministry. No longer are we relying on one man to do it all but as a team we are doing it together. It is my belief that once you complete these six steps of discipleship you will be a man equipped for ministry. Prayerfully considered if God would have you to be apart of the next group which we anticipate starting in the late fall of this year.
